Campaigns vs. Automations

What is the difference between email campaigns and automations?

If you are new to the world of digital systems, the difference between an email campaign and an automation might be confusing. Let's clarify that for you.

What is a Campaign?

Email campaigns are more commonly known as once-off blasts. It is typically used when you want to send a once-off email to all your users to share info, make an announcement, or inform your audience about the latest developments in your business or your latest blog article release (also known as newsletters).

What is an Automation?

Automations are powerful marketing tools. It consists of a series of steps that take your user through a journey. Automations have some sort of action that triggers the flow (like a form that was completed or a purchase that was made). You can send emails to your contacts, add or remove tags and notes in your CRM, monitor actions that a user takes, and so much more.

Generally, automations are not tied to a date or an event. It is something that is created once and then continues to run until such a time that you decide to turn it off.

Once properly designed, automations can start running your lead generation, sales, and your business in general on autopilot while you pay attention to the important part of your business.
